LIEUTENANT RECOGNIZED FOR 10 YEARS OF SERVICE TO SHERIFF'S OFFICE

On May 14, 2010 Lieutenant Karen S. Flexer was presented with an award for her 10 years of service with the Sheriff's Office.   The presentation was made by Sheriff Dwight L. Nothstein with the entire Sheriff's Office staff in attendance.  Lieutenant Flexer is the longest serving member of the Sheriff's Office having served as Special Deputy, Deputy, Sergeant and her current rank of Lieutenant.  She is third in the chain of command behind the Sheriff and the Chief Deputy and is the office CPR and First Aid Instructor.  Her other specialized duties include assigning deputies their daily responsibilities and supervisor of personal property executions along with all the other functions and responsibilites of a Deputy Sheriff.

Not only is she a knowledgeable, loyal, hard working deputy, she is also a caring, compassionate and  trustworthy friend.  Her ability to juggle being a supervisor, deputy, bookkeeprer, counselor, mediator, wife, mother and trusted friend is another reason that she is truly a rare person and an asset to the Sheriff's Office and the citizens of Carbon County.

Her life outside the office is equally rewarding, spending time with husband Randy and sons Derick, Brett and Dylan.
